I've got a deadline for an article for a Dubuque publication coming up and I haven't had much time to just sit and write.
Today my goal is to put all the thoughts floating in my head onto paper and turn it into a readable story.

My other writing goals for this week:
Submit column for local paper
Submit first picture book proposal

Other events this week:

Durant Fireman's Festival on Friday, parade on Saturday: The kids and I have a deal this week. For every good deed, good job, chore done without mom asking or just plain getting along when it otherwise might be hard.....mom gives them a ticket (that i bought at an office supply store....they look like regular fair tickets). For every ticket they earn, that is how many rides i will pay for at the firemans festival. This is turing into one fabulous week here at our house.

Sautrday is the "miracles and music fest" at the mch boys ranch from 12 to 7 pm. If you have never been out to the ranch to see what it's all about, then this is the day to do it. Food and music will be going on all day....including one of my favorite local musicians andy landers. I promise that you will be inspired by all that Jim and Cathy, founders of the ranch, have done and continue to do at the Miracles Can Happen Boys Ranch.
