Sorry I haven't posted for a while. But the weather is too nice to be sitting in front of the computer! Golfing on "black Friday" might not even phase some of you....but if you live in Iowa...golfing on the day after Thanksgiving is something to be thankful for. That is what Fred and Nathan did today. The girls and I spent some time putting up the tree and lights. With the windows open. Furnace off. Day after Thanksgiving. In Iowa.

In the spirit of the day, I'd like to share with you some random thoughts about living in Iowa that came through my inbox last week......

YOU KNOW YOU LIVE IN IOWA IF........

...your Diary Queen is closed from September through May
...someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance and they don't work there
...you've ever had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong #
...you measure distance in squares of farm land
...you know several people who have hit a cow. more than once.
...you have gone from heat to A/C and back again in the same day
...you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time
...you can drive 75 mph through 2 feet of snow in a raging blizzard without flinching
...you install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked
...you design your kids' halloween costumes to fit over a snowsuit
...driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow
...you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction
...or if all 4 seasons are: deer, duck/goose, pheasant and rabbit
