Fall Fest, First Dance and Photos

Last night was the PTO sponsored Fall Festival for the kids at the school. I was not able to go...but the kids came home all hopped up on sugar from their 2-liter prizes and had a bunch of fun stories about games, friends and a pile full of other prizes ranging from books, to necklaces to vampire teeth.

And face painting too. This combo of Tookie with the cute flower on her cheek and the vampire teeth in her mouth has got to be the perfect combination of the adorable/evil halloween look! Except she isn't really pulling off the last part of that combo as well as she would like!

For the older kids at the F.F. Fest....there was a dance. Nathan's first dance. Before leaving mom went through the checklist with him and his his friend who was catching a ride along with. Deoderant....check

Hair Product....check

Teeth Clean...check

How to slow dance with a girl....check

On that last note, I was sure to show the boys where to put their hands, where NOT to put their hands, how to move their feet, and how close NOT to get before an angry father shows up knocking at our door.

As the mother in this story, I feel it is my duty to cover all these bases.

After the boys came home I got to hear how all the girls hung out on one side of the gym and all the boys hung out on the other side. Seems that the boys all wanted to dance with the girls...but the girls were all shy. One of Nathan's friends told this one girl (who has been quite special to nathan since about preschool) if she would dance with him. She said she would think about it. Then Nathan decided to step up and ask her himself. She said she would think about it.

Then the dance ended. Nathan thought that maybe others had asked this same girl to dance and she said 'no'. So I assured him that she must love him since she had to 'think about it' when he asked.

We finished off the evening with a campout in the basement....

Here is a picture of a few chunks of my heart all spread out on the couch....

Thanks Durant PTO for another fun and successful event. You guys are awesome.

It's our pleasure! Sorry, you weren't able to be there, but glad you got the stories.
We almost didn't get to have one this year, cause the one in charge was going to be out of town. Someone stepped up and took over and did a GREAT job.! I think fun was had by all. I'll take this time to thank all those who helped, you know who you are.
